Charice is “Newly Crowned Pop Princess”

Today’s issue of the venerable New York Post dubs CHARICE as a “newly crowned pop princess” and says “you need to fall in love with her sound” in this week’s PopWrap’s fave five!! How about that!!

From a remixed Lady GaGa to a newly crowned pop princess known as Charice, this week’s fave five will have your bottom uncontrollably shimmying out of your kilt.

Starting off the bunch is a song from Psapp — made famous for singing the “Grey’s Anatomy” theme song — with an older track that has found major resurgence on my playlist lately. Layering up the middle of the five are songs by Lady GaGa (an Electrolightz remix), Gin Wigmore and Matisse, three young ladies that cause me to strut a little too hard on the subway platform as of late. And finally a new little chick by the name of Charice whose mountain-and-valley vocals (that means range kids) are the only reason you will need to fall in love with her sound.

Give all five a listen, and make sure to keep your lucky charms in check during tonight’s St. Patty’s festivities. Ya’ hurd!
